FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the benefits of private ACT/SAT prep?

Research has shown that students' scores consistently increase with test prep, especially private tutoring (Moore, Sanchez, & San Pedro, 2018). Through one-on-one sessions, students are able to reduce distractions, identify and focus on specific struggles, and move through test prep at their own pace.

Why should I choose Better College Prep?

My son/daughter is a student athlete and has an extremely busy schedule. How can we find time for test prep, college prep, or subject tutoring?

With a busy student, life can sometimes feel like a balancing act, and we understand that it can be difficult to find time in your or your student's schedule for things like tutoring or college prep. That's why we offer availability 7 days a week, with flexible hours that work around your schedule. We guarantee that we will be able to find something that works for you!!

How does online tutoring work?

All students need to be able to participate in virtual sessions is access to a working computer with a webcam. Through an online platform (Zoom), I am able to connect with students visually, share my screen with them to teach concepts, and share documents and materials with them in real time. Although some students may feel "awkward" at first speaking to someone on a webcam, most tend to get used to the experience after the first few minutes and appreciate the convenience of being able to work from home.

Do I need to purchase any materials for ACT/SAT prep?

No. All materials that the student will need will be provided free of charge. All students also will receive a full-length ACT or SAT prep book, written by owner Amy Vaughn.
